HDBank Green Marathon 2026 opens registration, promising a green running festival in Can Gio

HDBank Green Marathon 2026 has officially announced details for the race expected to take place this September in Can Gio, Ho Chi Minh City. This is the fifth consecutive season of the community running event with the message 'Green Steps – Digital Life'. According to organizers, the race offers distances of 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km, suitable for both beginners and semi-professional runners. The course runs through Can Gio's mangrove forest – a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve – offering a unique experience compared to urban races. The route has been certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) for accuracy and international standards. Notably, HDBank Green Marathon is not just about racing. Each season is linked to tree-planting and environmental protection activities; in previous editions, over 2,000 trees have been planted in Can Gio. This year, organizers continue to develop the 'Green Marathon online' platform on HDBank's banking app, allowing participants to run and accumulate results all year round. This combination creates a borderless race where people can join from a distance. Mr. Nguyen Van A, HDBank representative, shared: 'We aim not only to create a race, but a movement for physical fitness combined with environmental awareness. Green Marathon online will help people maintain running habits even when there is no live event.' The race continues to receive support from the Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation and the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City. It is expected to attract thousands of runners across the country. Registration is now officially open on the event's website, with different fees depending on distance and participation type. Organizers have also added family relay and team running categories, enabling children to become familiar with sports.
